For those of you who haven’t already heard, MW2 for PC is going to have matchmaking similar to consoles instead of dedicated servers.  This has caused an uproar to the pc community, and I could see it being a problem myself.  I used to be a hardcore CS(counter-strike) player back in the day and this is a big NO-NO for pc gaming.

By having a dedicated server, players could benefit from a couple things consoles couldn’t:

• Increase in players (ex. 12 players to 32 in a server) and access to exclusive areas of maps.
• WAYY better latency then those with consoles.
• Ability to choose what map, game type, how many players, or custom features/mods (custom maps thus increasing the life of the game).
• It brought the pc gaming community together by allowing certain players to continually join the SAME server and group of players, creating a special bond with everyone (or so they say).

What do I say?

This is a drastic change for IW and over 110,000 players have signed a petition, to allow dedicated servers. IWNET is supposedly going to be the new host of matchmaking, similar to Blizzard’s Battle.net.  I’m going to get this for my PS3 anyways so I don’t really care, but thought it was interesting.  Either way, it’s gonna be a fun experience, and hopefully people realize that they are going to miss out if they decide to drop their preorders… Anyways!!

Hey guys! Most of you ps3 owners are probably wondering what this game is.  I didn’t know what it was, until I was browsing on the ps store, bored as hell, and happened to stumble across a big ass box saying “UNCHARTED 2 BETA DOWNLOAD.”  I mean why not, I had nothing else to do at the time and it was free.  10 minutes later…. dam baby girl!

I played a couple online matches, and from the limited amount of maps and modes the demo had, I was sold. If you played gears of war and call of duty, its like they had a baby together and named it uncharted. lol

Anyway, I’m definitely picking it up when I have time.  You can check out the Uncharted 2 : Among Thieves review here.

Wandering around Target today, I had my ‘I really don’t need any of this’ cap on when I stumbled upon a PS3 Slim peeking through the glass shelf at the electronics section. It’s out already? More importantly, there was only one left! I had read reviews for it earlier in the week but didn’t realize it already hit the retailers. Anyways, I was purchasing a birthday gift at the register, when I overheard someone asking for assistance to open the glass case for it. She said “Oh can you please open this for me, I’m gonna buy it, I’ve been looking all over for it and it’s sold out everywhere i’ve checked.” That was surprising because for a console that’s three years old, all it takes is a cosmetic change and it’s now a hot commodity once again. Nintendo did it with the nintendo DS lite, why wouldn’t it work for Sony? Actually, Sony has already done it with their PSP 3000 and is going to do it again with the PSP-GO. What drives people to continue to purchase refreshed product? Is it marketing, hype? I guess its true, we are a country of consumers- consuming everything past our financial capabilities regardless of the economic condition. Which leads to the ultimate question, PS3-SLIM or money in your bank?
